I am wondering if we can change our computer name that is displayed on the Login Window.
The layout of the login window Looks like this:
<Apple Logo>
MAC OS X
Computer Name
<User Picture> UserName 1
<User Picture> UserName 2
.
.
.
<RESTART BUTTON> <SHUT DOWN BUTTON>
Again, my question is how I can change the computer name that is above the list of users. Mine says "FirstName LastName's Computer". It also shows up when I start up Terminal:
[FirstName-LastName-Computer:~] username%

Usually your computer's name is '[Your name]'s Computer', and names like that are reserved for your hard drive. :D

Your computer name can be just about anything. This name is also used for Rondezvous in OS X.

Go in System Preferences, then Sharing, then Computer Name. Simple as that. (http://smile.gif)
