I think a script kiddie wants to play a game with me!!! yay!! (actually it isnt I whom received these e-mails).
Well another person in my house a received a couple e-mails:
first:
Hello,This is a very humour game
This game is my first work.
You're the first player.
I expect you would like it.
second: This is a patch for IE 6.0
I expect you would like it.
he got another one but i didnt read it.
I got the e-mails on my (linux) computer now (by forwarding them to myself). Now one of the e-mails has an HTML page that links to a website about family history and a .ZIP file (obviously a virus).
The other e-mail has a file named "SETUPLOG.TXT" and is a setup log of a Win98SE installation. I might post it, but it is around 40 pages. This also has another .ZIP file (another virus probly). The setuplog is not from my computer.
well... these e-mails were originally on a windows machine in outlook, so does anyone know how to look at the actual e-mail headers in outlook???
The e-mails might of been forwarded from a free web based e-mail service (because of an auto-forwarder this person has in effect); do the original headers get forwarded along with the message?

wait!, those files that i claimed were .ZIP are actually .zl9 and .zlq does anyone know what they would be for in windows? They are executables. I am looking at it in VI. I noticed that it removes the CLSID in windows: ABDF3701-F340-4135-AC07-153D52CDB4A7 can somone using windows tell me what this class id is for?. I am gonna install windows tomorrow on my old computer just to try out these viru. The other file is exactly the same.
maybe i should try running this in WINE?

"whom" cannot be used in this way. Also, "isn't" should not be used as you are talking in the perfect tense. [edit - and i'm not 100% sure of the correct usage of the word "actually" either...]
this clause should be "actually it was not i who received these emails". You could use "whom" in the following way: "actually it was not i for whom these emails were intended" however the meaning here is not identical to that of the original clause.
Maybe you should ask Mr Perez to give you English lessons!
Just being pedantic!
anywa, i thougt it were well funny hear this what happened to you just because by use outlook in windows! I laugh and laughed! :D

I wonder.. does anyone with the slightest bit of technical knowledge use IE + Outlook + XP together?
IE + Windows XP == You can be logged off of your workstation (without saving) from a web page
Outlook + Windows XP == You get viruses. Lots of them.
IE + Outlook == Visiting web pages will give you viruses which will redistribute themselves to friends in your Address Book (yet another reason to make your Address Book full of people you hate)
-
i bet there's a ton of people who are stupid enough to use all that stuff. They probably believe all of what they get told in the news, and think that elections aren't rigged too.
technical knowledge does not a wise man make...

nobody answered my questions... Do all the original headers get forwarded when the e-mail is forwarded?
And how do i look at the complete headers?
-
Depends on the mail reader. Usually the complete headers do not get included in a forwarded message. In Evolution you just click "View"->"Message Display"->"Show Full Headers". And if your inbox is on a UNIX system you can just "vi" or "more" your inbox (usually in the file "/var/spool/mail/username") and see the raw messages uncensored.
