Does anyone know how to put flash on a web site with the <object> tag?
-
To be honest I think it might not be possible to embed flash in valid html. The solution seems to be 'don't use flash'. Sounds good to me.
-
i hate to say this but fuck w3.org They are fucked in the mind. No one has perfect HTML 4.01 because it is so fucking stupid. 3.02 is better. I guess to be in the theme of a website called www.fuckmicrosoft.com. (http://www.fuckmicrosoft.com.) HTML would never have been so fucked up if Microsoft hadn't of created IE.
-
Calm down Mr Gates. I have many w3-compliant pages and they are very nice. And if having compliant html means you can't have flash and embedded sounds (or for that matter animated "SITE UNDER CONSTRUCTION!!!" banners and size 3000 fonts) then I say good on them.

That wasn't a dig at your site, no. As far as I can see you don't have any of those things (apart from the one flash anim)

Ah I just noticed you do have "Under construction" there. I didn't see that before.
And I think using those tags might limit compatibility with browsers such as IE + Netscape (which may not be a bad thing)
-
that probably would be a good thing, except for the mozilla part, fortunately it works with Mozilla (Chimera) but unfortunately it works with IE on my Mac.
-
If you have a Mac, then why the fuck are you using IE?
Sorry, just a question...
-
WAAIIT a minute, now i havent exactly stared into the faces of the html specs lately but why would using the object tag not be allowed?
all you had to do to get that object tag code was go to like macromedia.com and look at the source
