Longhorn 3718: Anti-iCandy and resource hogs

That black stuff was a pretty good idea, but the latest Longhorn build proves what kind of idiot the designers at Microsoft are.

Get a clue (again): TOO MUCH BLUE MAY HURT YOUR EYES IN THE LONG RUN!

I guess they'll never learn...

At least the ugly black/purple one was their own creation.  Now they appear to be copying off some lousy user skins for XP.

Those OK/Cancel buttons look awful.

Oh...why did the build number (3718) decrease?  Can they not count?

You don't have permission to access /Longhorn%20video/3718_DCE.MPG on this server.
This could be because you are NOT a Tweakers.net user

Why do Microsoft make everything look complicated??

Longshit looks crap - not even anti-aliasing on the text under the icons!

The interface will confuse every pc weenie out there!

Mac OS X has nothing to fear from this crap!

Mac OS X Panther looks better, cooler and isn't confusing.

And the best part: it's available now! Longhorn can suck it, this shit rules!

Here's a cool video about what Mac OS X looks like:

Yes, you're right. But this is the first time those crappy effects are shown.

Here's a screenshot for Longhorn 4051 (still looks crappy though) click.
Compare to Mac OS X and Linux.

I like that guys hair in the apple video

I noticed that longshit still has windows xp in the about window.  So it is just another update to the NT series.  At least it is NT 6.0 and not NT 5.2.  longhorn also looks more similar to osx.  It sort of has an aqua look to it.  I am still unclear as to if longhorn will be totally dependent on the internet and if there will be a monthly/yearly fee to keep using it. If it is this bad, I will probably stay with xp for the rest of my life.  At least I have a G5 sitting on the other side of my monitor.  What is the story with longhorn now?  Is it really as horrible as I have heard?

Yes, I know people who installed it.

The whole GUI isn't logically build, and it's hard to get work done. It's also filled with useless junk which is only a resource hog (not talking about programs, about all the services you "need").

All Longhorn is, is a Windows XP skin with a .NET toolbar and a modded explorer.exe and crappy effects that are fun for a while, but which you want to disable anyway to get work done faster.

Saying that no one wants this crap would be wrong though. A lot of suckers are going to love this, not knowing that they ripped the GUI off Mac OS X (effects, design).

I've installed Longhorn on my computer a year ago, it's the worst piece of bloated crap I've ever used, worse than even XP. Slow as hell, everything looks cramped on small monitors (by 'small' I mean 17 inches or less), full of useless 'features' like an analogue clock without numbers in addition to the one in the taskbar, huge, cluttered menus and panels, and it takes 1.8 fucking gigs on the harddrive. Worst of all, it's ugly as sin, so much that I actually got a headache after using it for one day.

Those screenshots look even worse than what I tested. Look at those huge ass pictures of people smiling like morons! They clutter the file manager, confuse the users and make everything look like a bloody advert! WHY???
