K3B & cd writing problems
« on: 10 September 2003, 18:47 »
I use Mandrake Linux and it comes with GCombust, K3B and Gnome Toaster.
I tried burning CDs with Gcombustwithout much problems, but being the noob I am, found K3B to be more friendly. (Cant even find the an option to burn ISOs in Gnome Toaster:mad
So I ran K3B setup.
After that disastrous setup I couldn burn CDs and the drives in my /mnt/ folder are entirely messed up.
Any help?

When I use GCombust, it show this error messege in the output box:

quote:
**WARNING**: contractions.c 131 : popen_rw_unbuffered: execv() returned

And everything just stopped from there.

When I use K3B, it just simply crashes, and shows the crash backtrace dialogue thingy which proved useless without any error messege and the like.

Oh yes and my /mnt/ folder...
It used to be just 3 directories, windows, floppy and cdrom. Now its windows, floppy, cdrecorder, cdrom and scd0. It somehow showed 2 different folders (which were always empty by the way,even with a CD inside) when I only have one frigging read/write Cdrom drive! Dont even mention the scd0   folder...its always inaccessable.

I backtraced my problem and decided that I should do something abouot K3B setup again, but I couldnt figure anything out    :confused:

Is there a 'devices' section in the k3b setup? What's in it?
