SuSe 8.2 locks up while loading the printer draft (assistance??? anyone????)
AmericanBastard:
here's the deal
I am new to Linux and am trying to load SuSe 8.2
While it's initializing everything it comes up and says my D:\ has a invalid file structure and to only continue if I know what I'm doing. I'm thinking hey, I been using puters at more than a yahoo hero for seeral years...Hell I even figured out 3DStudio Max without the tutorials or manuals...I can do this...
One Word:
WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
while loading the draft for my printer the progress bar just stops at 11%. It doesn't lock up, I can still use my mouse, however the abort button is responsive in that it pushes in but nothing happens... No other warnings or cryptic messages appear...I even tested the printer sets and it passed fine....
If yall can...Please:
time to scratch the chin, say hmmmmmmmmmm, make a witty reark followed by a no really, here's what happened comment ask me ??? I'll tell ya whatever I can
Thanx in Advance
AmericanBastard:
Oh yeah, btw
SuSe recognized my Sound Card, video card and octopus hub I have that resembels a USB with all of the devices comming out of it with no prob...matter of fact didn't have to deal with the "Digital Signature" AKA You didn't register your product with microsoft and conform 100% with the way Billy wants it so it's just a matter of when WinBlowz is going to crash your computer bull shit either...that was nice!
suselinux:
the best thing that you can do is go here
web page
and make sure that your printer is supported
AmericanBastard:
Yeah, the printer is supported...it's a HP 697c deskjet...Suse picked it up right off the bat...it even passed the testing by Suse, it's just when it loads the configuration, it suddenly stops at 11%and says it was loading the printer draft
insomnia:
Use the driver disk from your printer.
