Suse 7.3 network
« on: 3 December 2002, 23:04 »
Hi guys.

Am building a suse 7.3 (with which I have very little experience) installation on a machine
for a client as a test.

The thing has a Kingston EtheRx PnP network
card installed - and for the life of me I can't
get it to work. (It's supposed to be part of
all releases 2.4 and later and be NE2000
compatible ie. selecting the ne module should
be enough).

I can set the card as far as possible - and when
I ping in/out the little green light flashes.
Allthough it can ping itself, when I ping any
other machine on the network it allways says
it is unreachable.

I have tried with and without a default gateway
and the network config files etc. seems fine.

I find Suse to put files in different places
than RH and using yast  :D  - a wee bit strange.

Any suggestions anyone?

Tx in advance!
Microsoft apparently thinks that R&D stands for 'Rewrap & Disguise'.
