question about running windows apps on linux

<< < (2/2)

hnugz:
hmm, are there any other options?  i dont wanna have to subscribe to that place just to play games on linux.  i might as well keep using windows.

beltorak0:
you don't need to subscribe to download the source and compile; you only need to for pre-compiled binaries; at least that's the way I understood the liscense.

The hardest part for me was downloading the source from the CVS tree; i have no idea how to do it in the M/9 GUI; but the console instructions on transgaming's site worked perfectly -- after the CVS setup stuff.

hnugz:
oh i see.  well as soon as i get more familiar with linux ill figure out how to do all that stuff.  thanks again.

SAJChurchey:
How good is Wine emulation really?  I have trouble getting it to run simple chess clients and Warcraft I and II.  It doesn't really look like it's getting anywhere to me.  Am I doing something wrong?
