RH 8.0 & networking problems

err i use DHCP for adsl, in fact i dont even know what PPPoE or whatever it is.

PPPoE is Point to Point Protocol over Ethernet or something like that.
And as I understand it, xDSL can use DHCP or PPPoE but cable never uses PPPoE.

Hey Ice 9. Don't know if it helps any, but I was trying to configure my internet connection in 8.0, and basically you do not need to configure your network card to use the internet.

I don't know if you saw it, but if all you are trying to do is get your Interent on the go it might help (you would use cable not xDSL of course).
