KDE or Gnome on P133/32MB RAM
« on: 1 October 2002, 15:06 »
Hi!
I have P133MHz with 32MB RAM and 1MB ATI videocard.
Now I want to know what KDE or Gnome I can put on my PC, what isn't slow. I have tryed KDE 3 and Gnome 2 but they all are really slow.
I tryed to put RedHat 6.3 with KDE 2 on my PC but there was an a error with my videocard and I can't to run KDE 2 or Gnome 1.
But is there a FreeBSD version what includes KDE old version 2 or 1 or something...
so, what i can do? STAY with windows?
p.s. need graphic mode!

if i were you i would try some other desktops. My favourite is XFce, however popular ones are fluxbox, windowmaker, blackbox and so on.

windowmaker or Blackbox. Blackbox is lightning fast, windowmaker is nice looking and not slow.

Put Blackbox on a system like that. It uses very little memory and will run nicely.
