Is RedHat 8.0 hiding things?
Master of Reality:
Ok, I found out that my SiS7012 sound is supported in 2.4.28 so i am trying to install redhat 8.0, but whenever it goes to the zlib package the install fails. I did the media check. I even burned it again and did the media check. It still didnt work.
Now obviously i am gonna have to leave out zlib but it isnt anywhere in the package listing. Does redhat hide certain packages from being chosen (unchosen)??!! If they do then they can fuck off and die.

If you are having trouble with Linux, perhaps you should switch.

Shame on you m0r! :D :D :D
As for RH hiding packets, I dunno. I haven't had any problems of the sort. Maybe it's just not there?

I believe zlib is a very important base package for things like Apache etc. I found something on bugzilla that I believe to be the same problem you are having. I found several reports about the install crashing on zlib install and they seem to lead here:
