Is RedHat 8.0 hiding things?
Master of Reality:
fucking redhat 8. I gotta new prob... it cant mount CD 2 i didnt check it so it may be "my" fault.

My only problems with RH8:
1)Still can't get the dual boot out of the box. If it's impossible then fine, but Mandrake 8.2 worked perfect for automated dual boot set up. Why can't they steal some source code or somethin?
2)Even though it knows I had a wind0ze drive, did it mount it? Nope. Libranet, Lycoris, Mandrake, they all mounted it. I'd actually have to go through the trouble of asking you guys how to mount my wind0ze drive(which I haven't done yet because of my sad forced drive migration).
It doesn't mean it sucks, it just means that Redhat has some oversights. RH8 may of been a long time coming, so it has alot of new stuff/changes. All these problems from the new stuff is finally getting found out as it's released into millions of hands.

That's odd, I installed it on my desktop with a triple boot setup. I would guess you must have missed something on the install screens. Unless there is something different about XP if that is what you are trying to dual boot. I don't have XP, nor will I ever have XP so I can't be of much help there.
RedHat will not "automatically" add your other operating systems, when you get to the boot loader configuration you have to "add" your other OSs to the boot loader there. This is what I am referring to.

No, it knows Wind0ze is there. It has a wind0ze option on the boot menu, but it just stops the boot when I try it. UNLESS you are refering to having to configure this Windows entry they put in, myself.

Hmmm, is it XP that you are trying to dual boot? I didn't have a problem with it at all. I don't remember doing anything special on the install, in fact now that you mention it it detected it and set it up automatically and worked. But like I said, I don't have XP so if you do that may be the difference. I have a tri-boot RH8/Win2k/Win98 (I've only booted into the Win versions maybe twice since installing RH8 though).
