Finally it looks like I'll be able to get a cheap box to run MacOSX on, but not from Apple! John Fraser is (sort of) getting into the clone business 5 years after Apple shut down their 3 year long 'experiment' in licensing the hardware. Based on off the shelf apple components in a custom pizza box style case with no bolted on display, a barebones 'iBox' will be around 300 USD and require a processor, disk and memory (and the OS). Complete systems (again, without the OS) should start at around 650 USD.

oh would it? why not linux? if it were a linux machine, it would cost the same and you would be able to put 100 bucks or so more/better hardware in there than if you used windows (oh yes, and a better operating system too, but you knew that...).

Linux is the only OS out of the ones mentioned that is for everyone.  Those other operating systems are only available for those who pay the license fee and sign an agreement promising not to share it with their friends.

Please don't start this all over again. Firstly, this question of yours is extremely simplistic! There are good and bad points in every OS other than windows, including OS X and Linux.

Secondly, such an "idiotic" question (no offense intended) will only get idiotic and immature answers, as has happened in the past!

Anyway, those of you who are mature enough, please do not take any time to answer such questions ever again. They are childish, simplistic and overly immature.

EDIT: And by the way, a small article about Apple and the "open source" community I wrote on my page.

My question was in the wrong context. I meant "Are you saying that Linux is better than Windows, or are you saying that Linux is better than OS X?" His opinion was unclear and I was asking. I wasn't asking him "So, are you saying that Linux is better than OS X AND Windows?" Sorry.

except for the small problem that Linux is simply the hardest to use OS I have ever touched.  Not to say it can't be made simple, for the basic user.  It just isn't yet.  I've tried many distros, RH 8, RH 7, SuSE 7.3, SuSE 8.1, Mandrake 9 (I think).  and none of them were in my ability to use.  I still have Red Hat 8 on my PC, but I never use it, I'm gonna wait for RH 9.  I like RH the best right now because they use Gnome as their main desktop environment, and I like gnome better than KDE.  Wow, I'm getting off topic.

The above comment about OSX and license agreements is true, but it comes with all Macs and only works on Macs.  So any people that could use it, most likely have it already.

Please. Don't try to deny it--OS X is way simpler and much more polished than Linux. It's a FACT.

Nevair!  Linux has the simplest interface ever.  I mean, how simple can you get?:

I did NOT ask you if you thought Linux was better than both. When you said "it comes with a better OS", I didn't understand and I wanted to know what OS it was better than. I wasn't being a jerk and saying "What?! Are you saying that LINUX is better than OSX or Windows? Fool!"
