what i want to say here is that this statement typifies americans in the eyes of the entire rest of the world.
If you are an american and you do not like being seen in this way, do something about it. you are all so proud of a country that has so much democracy, well use it. If you want to shuck the image of the arrogant dimwit that the rest of the world has you pegged as then vote people in who are not arrogant dimwits.
