My ship came in.
hm_murdock:
That's right.
I ordered the Art Asylum Enterprise-A toy from amazon. It's really nice, well detailed... only thing is it's got some fit issues. one of the engine wings is a little crooked, so one warp pod sits higher than the other... and the plate that the wings are on doesn't fit quite as tight as I'd like
but otherwise, it's great. I've got their NX-01 Enterprise, too and it's damn good, even though the damn portside warp thruster won't stay on. I even tried whittling down the plastic blocks designed to hold it on (they were molded too big) and tried to glue it on... but no dice
I don't know what to do, it doesn't fit at all now. I'm thinking it's gonna need putty.
sad that I have to use model-building techniques to make a damn toy fit together.
SheedRicolan:
Sweet. I have a British Airways B707 that I've been working on forever but I'm too lazy to finish. landing gear.
hm_murdock:
airplanes... I always preferred to build them gear-up. that way I could hang them or build a nice stand for them so it looks like they're flying.
planes look cooler when airborne
Paladin9:
After watching WAY to much star trek, I quickly noticed that Jimmy is using the wrong term for the 2 warp things that stick off of the ships. They are called warp nacelles.
hm_murdock:
I get sick of that word.
a nacelle is any streamlined, pod-like structure that contains cargo, crew, or an engine on an aircraft.
too many trek nerds think that what word you use for bullshit matters.
Warp engine
FTL Drive
Hyperspeed
Light speed
Thruster
they all mean the same thing
"device that makes you go"
