The internet... dying?
lazygamer:
Yup, Internet is overrated... yet I still am happier with it than without it!
I hope the internet does semi-collapse. So as long as DSL prices stay stable(or drop), I'm happy. Of course I doubt it will collapse. It will probably reach a stable size and stay there. I think those mass market morons enjoy the net, so they aren't just gonna magically decide to not renew their connection one day.

$2,000+ for a computer? That is soooo 90's.
TheKnifeThrower:
The biggest problem for the internet is the change from IPv4 to IPv6. If this isn't done then the internet will be screwed in the future.

I'm surprised too but some people still spend that on a PC. The type of monitor they buy can bump up the price a fair bit too. The teaser $499.00 ad is just bait and switch stuff. By the time you add the right memory size, disk size etc, you're up to a grand easy. M$ of course contributes to this perpetual upgrade with their ever increasing "OS" bloatness.
Look at the price of a Mac, lovely machines but what a price.
Pissed_Macman:
The internet is a great idea and I believe it will help lead us to a future free of capitalism, but I guess capitalism figured it out too because it made sure to ruin the internet just like everything else it touches.
