Yup, same story at my place. Mozilla at home, IE at school. Even our webmaster (he made the Dutch site www.jfc.nl) uses mozilla ...

Well... I don't think I've ever been hacked. I don't visit chatrooms, except for very tight knit game communities or scheduled meetings. I mainly use message boards, surely message boards are highly secure for the end user?(if not, they are 10 times better then IRC)

Im also not an actual 1337 h4x0r, so I don't have people getting pissed off at me and counter-hacking. Finally, I don't really make it my mission to piss people off.

Due to all this, I've had an amazingly virus free and hack free net life.

Kat:
Heh, good thing i upgraded to OpenOffice...
I don't think IRC is unsafe, i have used it for years without any problems. Just use common sense. In fact, the only virus i have ever gotten was from a website. Thanks to Mozilla, that won't happen again.
