Oh looky - we can download Palladium as an IE plugin
TheEnigma:
I really don't get these people!
As a long time NT technican (dont slap me PLEASE! :D ), I finally decided to train myself up for that RHNA I have wanted for the past dew months, and as soon as I start using Linux, I find this little gem of a download!!
Do MS think we're all idiots?
I'm sure that there has been as much if not more talk about this Palladium here, as we have had over at Flashkit.com, but Jeez - sorry, I think 98'll be left as my gaming machgine seeing as I cant get Wine to work right :D
Laukev7:
I tthink you mean the DRM plugin. Palladium is the former codename of the so-called "Next Generation Secure Computing Base", the security framework around which the next version of Windows will be built.
What you are talking about is a plugin that allows you to play copy protected WMA music files. DRM is a feature that restricts the use of music files or other media (ie copying, burning on CD or executing). Palladium will be much worse than that, as it will be integrated in the OS and will work with the hardware, and will restrict the use of software as well. It's not on the market yet, save for some TCPA-ready hardware.

Close enough. The Athena prototype has a finger print scanner.
