MS to ship XP: Reloaded OS
« on: 26 February 2004, 19:52 »
Well it appears that Microsoft doesnt want to wait until Longhorn comes to force users to upgrade to something else. In early 2005, Microsoft will ship Windows XP Reloaded Edition (remember 98 Second Edition?).

My this is retarded. Theyre gonna ship this is 2005, and of course all the retarded people are gonna run out and buy/pirate it and of course buy new PCs with it preinstalled. Then one year later they're gonna be forced to do the same when Longhorn comes out. Idiots.

I didn't see anything about Bill Gates coming to your house and making you install it.

How are they forcing people to update?

Forced in a figure of speech. They aren't forced to do it, but they think they are.

Most people still have the idea that latest software equals better security.

That may be true sometimes, but it shouldn't be as extreme as going from 95 to 98 to ME to XP.

According to sources I contacted this morning, XP Reloaded will include all the features from XP Service Pack 2 (SP2), which is due by midyear, as well as a host of other unique features, including Windows Media Player (WMP) 10.

Bingo.

Also, Paul Thurrott, who wrote this article, is an asshat.  Period.

Will they call the next one "Revolutions" and have a shitty fight with flying around in it like the Matrix.

Reloaded was a pretty good sequel.
Revolutions was so shitty the entire cast should be in jail to serve the amount of time everyone wasted watching it.

It's not that great, even for MSPaint.
What you need to do is change the fonts (anything but Times) and don't compress it so much.  The message itself is OK, so do what I said and lets see how that turns out  :D

It's not a question of their not wanting to wait. After all, Wrong... err... Longhorn has fallen way behind schedule. (Nothing new here: remember Windows 93?    ) So what are they going to do to keep the $$$$ rolling in?

I sense another Windows ME in the making.

I wonder how many dumb-@5535 will fall for this again?

Quoted for wrongery. XP Reloaded seems like a veiled attempt to start making the public pay the costs of "fixing" M$ fuckups. Would you pay $90 for a retail software package called "Windows XP Service Pack 2"?
