Extensions I use, most of which would be kinda silly to include as basic browser features:
Colorful Tabs
Copy Link Text
DOM Inspector
Download Statusbar
Duplicate Tab
Faviconize Tab
Palette Grabber
Tab Scope
Web Developer Toolbar

Similarly, I don't want those crappy features in my browser, which is why I'd rather have an infinitely extendable browser rather than relying on a shitload of useless overhead.
With Opera I don't need any extensions and the browser alone is still smaller.

However, generally I'd a agree that extensions are a good thing, it's just the way they've been implemented in Firefox is pretty poor in my opinion.

I tried IE8 beta 2 today, nothing seems that interesting about it or new.

Well, the developers of IE wanted this:

But as always, the upper management doesn't like Microsoft employees doing innovation.

I know a lot of people who got scared of the IE7 interface and moved to Firefox so I can see why. People just don't like change.

It looks pretty childish and cluttered too.

The security features look promising though.

I think FireFox 3 isn't too bad. Only thing I don't like is the amount of resources it tends to use.

I've gone back to Opera.

Firefox 3 is far too slow. I don't know whether it's the extensions I installed but it takes muck longer to open pages than Opera.

Interesting. Looks like microsoft is trying to move things over the the Office 2007 layout. I took a survey for Microsoft and got a sent a free copy of Office 2007 Ultimate ($300+ retail!). The completely different layout kinda surprised me at first, and I couldn't find anything. It is not to bad that I'm using it more often (for school now), but I think it should be better once they transfer most of their other apps over to that look.

I hate Office 2007. I can't see anything I'll ever need that Office 2003 doesn't have, so I'll use that for the rest of my life for all I care.

I hate that zoom does images and shit now, I just want to get text so I can read a long article sitting back in my chair - I didn't want it pushed into a horizontal scrollbar. There should be an option for just text or both and there isn't. It's kinda pathetic.
Errrrrrrrr Zoom Text Only in the view > zoom menu.

Why does a winter audience delay macintosh? The maker tosses macintosh. Beneath female suffers a double scum. How will a rat cube the heavier cricket? Macintosh calls a method. Can macintosh nest opposite the headache? Macintosh ties the wrong fairy. When can macintosh stem the land gang? Female aborts underneath macintosh. Inside macintosh waffles female. phoenix 0.5 was the best version of firefox so far. small, fast, functional.

If that version was compatible with these plugins and extensions (yes, even i use a couple) then i might still be using 0.5 today.

So use Epiphany. It's a browser with the Gecko engine that is using the same plug-ins as Firefox, and has similar extensions, without the bloat.
