How could they do this to me?

Your right, they do include the names. But they don't say the version, they say the codename(which I assume this must be what it is). Like I assumed that "Valhalla" was not a version codename, but... something Redhat added for some weird reason.  ;)

lazygamer:
Lol, it's both my fault and Redhat's fault. I guess im quite a dumb-dumb at times, let us hope RH8 is even better then Mandrake.

After going through link after link of Vahalla mirrors, something caught my mind. What about changing the FTP path from 7.3 to 8.0? Sure enough, it worked! Psyche baby! Obviously Redhat did not update their mirror links, while their mirrors did. Guess i'll have to complain to Redhat.

Hmmm, this is ironic, first 8.0 link and it's going at 127K per second! But what is this... FIVE DISKS?! What happened to 3 disks? I don't see anything detonating source disks, so I guess I need grab them all?

Yeah, I know, 3 disks is a lot. It said 2 of them were RPMS, so I guess there are huge amounts of programs included.

And unless you plan on blowing up your source code, it's denoting   :D

lazygamer:
If it drops me at the command line after installing like it did in RH7.3, it's gonna get detonated.

lazygamer:
lol@zombie. You have a good point, but Linux has tons of large(large doesn't always mean bloated, some stuff must be large) and not-so large free software included. Redhat goes overboard, let's hope they did a better job with the package selection options.

I mean wind0ze fits on one disk, but you only get fucking solitare and minesweeper.

However, for a non bloated OS(not the extra applications, the actual OS) Linux still is pretty large. Isn't the Linux kernel 16mb of sourcecode? Of course that's probably a pointless fact, no one knows the uncompiled size of Windows's source code, so you can't compare them.
