But Okin insisted that ongoing security problems are not unique to Microsoft. "I do not think (these problems) have got to do with bad design at all," he said. "Whatever is humanly designed, you have got to recognise that there will be flaws and problems."

Sure, there is no doubt no matter who designs it it will have flaws since that is human.  However Opensource is ahead of that game ince the CHECK the errors!

quote:
Okin said that some of the problems are due to the flawed design of fundamental Internet protocols. "There are flaws within the basic protocols on which much of this technology is based. We are taking a good long look at all of the different protocols -- the message protocol and TCP/IP are examples -- to see how we can make this a more trusted environment," Okin said.

So M$ has a hard time adapting to universal standars when they are fine for everyone else.  No wonder they keep breaking standards in their product.   :D

So is this why the always feel the need to come up with their own bastardised, weak set of standards? C#, F#, jscript etc... Because of course it's the standards that are in the wrong right??

What I like to know is, what if they stated messing with http and the like, comming up with their own protocal just for windows?  What is companies adapt to that new protocal?  Does that that mean in the futue we have to use M$ software only?

Or is this another attemt to rule the world?  :(
